echo
artist statement

The flow of time, like an audible echo, resembles the repetition of a primal sound that, without fading, is built up anew with each bounce on the walls; small variations and nuances are progressively absorbed into the loudening. Time echoes in every event, from the present to the past to the future and back.

In my photographs, fractured, fragmented and broken pieces of time are composited in a layering succession of static instants and a new stratification of its tiers. The visual compression results in images that are temporally accumulative and spatially disorienting. The order of time collapses and is rearranged on the negative as an illusory unison, a failed visualization of eternity.
