accrual
artist statement
Time is a constant accumulation of nows, we fill in the gap between
them and construct the illusion of its flow. From then to now to later,
photography mirrors our fractiones understanding of time and the lineal
nature of our experience.
In my woks, in camera streams of
exposures are burnt atop each other to composite a dissection of the
Flow of Time. Chronology, now inconsistent, is reduced to pure
discontinuity; and the resulting condensation renders a visual
thickening of time, irregular and arbitray at best.
This synthetic representation of a polyphonic present challenges the pattern of linear time, and accumulates to build an analogue panorama of
shuffled temporalities.
